Simple privacy for a local-first fishing app
This privacy policy covers the current FishySticky Android app build. FishySticky is designed to help users capture fish photos, turn them into collectible sticker cards, and keep fishing-day records on their own device. This document describes what the app uses today in Phase 1 and what users should expect from the current local-first version.
1. What FishySticky does
FishySticky lets a user start a fishing day, capture a fish photo with the in-app camera, generate a sticker-style card, and optionally add catch details such as species, weight, place, and notes. The current version is aimed at personal memory-keeping and collection tracking.
2. Information used by the current version
The current version is local-first and does not require account registration. Based on the code in this build, the app primarily uses:
- Fish photos that the user captures inside the app.
- Catch details that the user types in, such as species, weight, location text, and notes.
- Fishing-day status, sticker metadata, border choices, and similar app content stored on the device.
The Phase 1 codebase does not show built-in ads, payments, mandatory login, or third-party analytics dashboards.
3. Permissions
The Android app currently requests camera permission. The camera is used so the user can take a live photo and generate a sticker from that image. The intended permission timing is contextual: the prompt should appear when the user tries to collect a sticker, not immediately on first launch.
4. Local storage and retention
FishySticky stores the user’s current fishing records on the device in this version. That means uninstalling the app, clearing the app’s data, or switching to another device may remove access to existing records unless the user has made their own external backup. This first version does not promise automatic cloud restore.
5. Sharing and third parties
Based on the current code inspection, FishySticky does not include a sign-in system, subscription billing flow, mobile advertising SDK, or explicit analytics stack in Phase 1. If future versions add hosted backup, account features, or third-party services, this policy should be updated before release.
6. Children’s privacy
FishySticky is not built as a children’s app. If you believe a child has provided personal information in a way that requires action, contact the support email below so the issue can be reviewed.
7. Policy updates
This privacy policy may be updated as the app evolves. If the product adds new data flows, new permissions, or network-backed services, the policy should be revised to match the actual shipped behavior before release.
